From setback to growth - and stage!

From setback to growth - and stage!

One of my biggest dance goals had always been to compete in the Australian Dance Crew Competition(ADCC). It’s one of the most exciting and competitive events in the dance scene here, and I was thrilled to be part of it with both my solo performance and as a member of my incredible crew, Kudos, from Kinetic Creative Studio.
When I first set out on this journey, I spent weeks preparing a brand new solo. I poured so much energy and passion into it, and by the time I hit the stage at qualifiers, I felt ready to give it my all. The experience of performing was amazing, but when the results came in, I was deflated, I finished fifth in my category, just short of making it through to the finals.
Disappointed at first. But honestly, it turned out to be a big learning moment for me. It reminded me that setbacks are part of the process, and they can help me grow. Not long after, I was back in the studio working on a fresh new routine, and I could already tell I had improved from that experience.
There other fantastic outcome from the ADCC Qualifiers was that my crew qualified for the finals! 🎉
We trained very hard together, and pushed each other every step of the way. Knowing we earned our place as a team made all those late-night rehearsals totally worth it. Being able to perform with my crew at the finals was such an amazing experience. We brought something really special to the stage, and I’m beyond proud of what we accomplished together.
Even though I didn’t perform my solo at the finals, the journey taught me that every challenge is a chance to level up — not just as a dancer, but as a teammate, performer, and person.
Thanks so much for reading my story!
Wherever you are on your dance journey, remember to keep learning, keep smiling, and never give up. The stage will always be there — just keep showing up for it. 💥
