I have back-to-back dancing weekends from 19/09 to 10/10 — four weekends in a row competing against some of the best dancers around. And what a start! The first weekend I competed with my crew Kudos in the Rumble Finals with our new routine. I was so humbled to win a full scholarship to the I-DEVELOP International Dance Camp 2027, run by Identity Dance Company (IDCo) in New Zealand! Four days of solid training. Check out my intagram stories to watch the announcement.
Soon after this mind-blowing weekend, I’m travelling to the Sunshine Coast for the Get The Beat National Finals. This time I’m competing as a soloist in five different categories, with three different choreos — and one of them is my own routine!
I’m super excited because this is a huge competition and one of the big ones in Australia. There are so many talented dancers coming from all over the country, so it’s going to be a full-on week of dancing, watching, learning and competing. I’m ready for it!
Then on 1 October, dad and I are flying to Sydney for the ADCC Finals. This is pretty important for me because it will be my first time competing with a solo performance at ADCC. Last year I competed there with my crew Kudos, but this time it’s just me on that stage.
And then… one week later, I’m back in Queensland and heading to the Gold Coast for another competition: Upgrade Dance Competition. This time I’ll be competing in both categories — with my team and as a soloist.
Insane.
And get this: one of the judges is Mr Wiggles! He’s another OG of hip-hop and someone I’ve looked up to for a long time. He’s actually the second OG I get to meet this year, which is pretty crazy. What an inspiration!
So, yeah… the next few weeks are going to be BUSY!
Lots of training.
Lots of travelling.
Lots of dancing.
Lots of nerves.
And, for sure, lots of fun!
I’m super excited and ready to give it everything I’ve got.
Let’s do this!
