It’s Benji from @benji_hiphopdance and I have to tell you about my Japan dance adventure!
I went to two studios during my stay: Camuro in Osaka, and NOA Dance in Tokyo. Both were so cool, with big studios, great lighting and sound.
CAMURO Dance Studio – Osaka

I jumped into Hoyu’s class and, yooo!, the choreography was so hard, but I kept pushing and I got it in the end!! The class was super fun but serious at the same time; one thing that called my attention was that they didn’t count the beats in the music, they just listened and danced to them. Although I didn’t understand Japanese, the vibes and the music said everything, and everyone was so nice and made me feel welcome even though I was there for one night. My respect to Hoyu and the rest of the class who were there. Check out the video of Hoyu’s class in my Instagram.
NOA Dance Academy – Shinjuku, Tokyo

This place is next level: the dancers here are extremelly focused, and you can tell they are there just to get better every single day. Yusuke taught a tough choreo, based on grooves and full of layers, and I felt so inspired and motivated to keep going and learning. At the end of the class everyone was giving high fives and showing love, this felt like a real dance fam who were kind enough to include me.
Japan dancers go crazy: the energy, the hard work and ability, the passion… I loved all of it!! Everyone pushes themselves to level up, and that made me want to go even harder. And speaking of working hard, I’m definitely putting in a 100% in my practice to keep learning and getting better, so next time I go Japan I can work harder and better.
